5 Forums for Web Designers
Jan 2nd, 2008 by Sawse

Web designers often find themselves working in relative isolation. It is relatively easy to forget that there are a lot of benefits to visiting web design forums regularly, from troubleshooting specific problems to networking and promoting one’s work. Here are five such forums to keep an eye on for web design and other related online freelance work.
Web Designer Forum has a number of useful features including community discussion areas, hiring and classifieds sections, listed competitions and places to discuss coding, programming, software, hosting and other resources
CSS Chat mostly focuses on technical resources and discussions, including HTML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript and DOM.
Estetica Design Forum has an eclectic mix of discussions that go beyond just web design into photography, physical (print) design and other topics.
Open Web Design is a relatively underdeveloped forum though it has few enough categories (including a place to submit designs) that each section has some activity.
Freelance Gossip is, as the title suggests, a bit broader than just a web design forum. Discussion areas include marketing, freelance work and search engine optimization.
