Gadgets, shopping for gadgets and all of this, have become one of the best ways to pass time at least today. We can hardly imagine our lives without gadgets. Gadgets not only make our lives much easier but also have a certain amount of entertainment factor attached to it. Gadgets have become an integral part of our lives and the fact remains that – gadgets really do make our lives easier!

How much ever we might criticize the fact that our children do not get enough physical exercise anymore because all they ever do is play on the console, the fact remains that we asked for it!

How much ever we might criticize the fact that machines are responsible for unemployment; the fact remains that we don’t care about the unemployed, or do we!

Anyways, without stressing on the point anymore lets get back to gadgets. Gadgets and technology go hand in hand! In fact technology makes gadgets. Today, there are so many things that we do without really doing them; all thanks to technology. All thanks to technology? Or is all thanks to the creators of technology! Perhaps it is their innovative minds that are responsible our simpler lives rather than the innovative technology itself.

Today, we can make use of technology for everything that we ever do. Right from cooking to cleaning the car! Technology also makes things that were once impossible, possible. Technology is important in our homes and at our workplace, in fact, not many of us can do without this technology even on vacations.

Lets take for instance the mobile phone – Yeah ok we all know how important it is and how it helps keep in touch; but, today the luxuries that a mobile phone provides for are exactly the functions that we cannot do without. Be it the luxury of not having to carry a diary around or be the luxury of renting a taxi and have it pick you up on your door step.

Mobile phone – the gadget along with its technology came as a luxury and then became a necessity. When this happened, the same technology evolved and ensured that the gadget still remained a luxury. However, our needs changed and today we relax by listening to music on our cell phone. Then the question remains as to whether it was the technology that resulted in the need or the need that resulted in the evolution of the technology?

We also have technology that helps us deal with technology! Be it software or hardware it is all technology in the end. Right from our telephones to our mirrors, the element of luxury is what we cannot do without. Here are a few ways in which we use technology to make life easier:

Mobile phones with cameras that actually also act as a mirror as they allow us to take self images. They are also responsible for the fact that maps are no longer of any importance to us – that with the GPS and GPRS and several more of the same kind.

Technology has also taken a toll on the conventional gas stoves. What with the microwaves and the all new ovens. Then there are the cool, funky, easy to use, and trendy gadgets that have found their very own personal space in our kitchens. By the way, ready to use food! Well that’s upsetting our refrigerators; where the fresh vegetable and fruits are – and we talk about healthy eating!

Technology has also transformed the way we travel. Newer and better technological innovations in this field are till surprising us; and oh! Yeah! We are spoilt for choice!

However, nano technology and genetics has also been responsible for some really great advancements both in the way our agricultural system works and the way in which we are able to deal with diseases. (Obviously cloning led to some amount of controversy, but then again we are intelligent enough to decide what is good or bad; or are we?!)

Technology has also found its way into our bathrooms – what with the automatic commodes! They also have mechanisms that allow you to alter the temperature of the water! Ok ok so this mind sound not very nice to a lot of us, but it is a fact that they are pretty nice for all those physical not so competent folks out there.

Who says technology is bad? Technology helps you protect your car with a plastic bubble, technology helps you get your vision back, and technology helps you run faster! Run faster! Yeah run faster – there is a considerable amount of technology that is used to design shoes that ensure we have a comfortable run.

What with the iPods and the latest iPhone and smart phones! Transfer music click pictures and also access the internet. Apart from this, these phones look great too and make for a really cool fashion statement.

Click photographs! – Well that brings us to the vices that technology brings to this world! Children deriving entertainment from pornographic sites – that’s technology, lazy humans – that’s technology, and Hiroshima Nagasaki – that’s technology!

However, we cannot really blame the developers of technology for all these vices. It is we who decided to make use of all of it. Nevertheless, it is because of these innovative minds that the Hubble telescope would be functional for some more time; it is because of these innovators that we can express our thoughts through blogs so easily and it is because of these innovators that our life will only get better.

The parody of the whole deal is that although we lay so much importance on the brand of the gadget and the gadget itself, we tend to forget to even recognize the efforts of all those who actually imagined that these gadgets could be created. The funky new laptop or the smart gadget pen – who created these? We do not know; moreover we don’t care. Therefore this blog is dedicated to all those who helped develop the technologies that we use today rather than the technology that they developed.
