Unexplained Mysteries: Paranormal Phenomenon
Apr 28th, 2008 by admin

For many years mysterious orb shaped objects that are seemingly made of light, have reportedly been seen around the world by thousands of people. With the advent of digital photography, orb sightings have become more and more common. Some scientists claim that this is evidence of other-worldly beings from another dimension. Recently, in Sedona, Arizona the first conference of its kind regarding the orb phenomenon was held. At the conference, some scientists claimed that the round or circular shaped objects, or orbs, do indeed offer enough evidence to prove the existence of beings from another place. If the scientists are correct, this could have great implications for mankind and our place in the universe. Aren’t these types of images common place in digital photography? Simple moving the camera when in low light situations can easily cause a streak, or double image.

Of course to get a glimpse of an orb in a photograph, to know whether or not you’ve got the real thing, you will need to make sure that you have taken precautions and made sure that there is no dust, or droplets of water, and reflections. The ability to tell fake orbs from real ones takes some degree of skill, and may be difficult for the novice. Orbs are fairly quick, reportedly moving up to approximately 500 miles per hour. To get a clear picture of an orb, it needs to be motionless. Dr. Klaus Heinmann, who is a former researcher at Stanford University, performed a variety of experiments in which he utilized more than one camera and a variety of tripod configurations, in an attempt to find out more about orb behavior in a controlled setting. What he found is that even when taking two pictures, from two cameras simultaneously, in some cases orbs appeared, and only in one photograph, sometimes in none, and sometimes in both. He concluded the possibility that this means that the orbs are making a decision as to which photograph to appear in and in some cases whether or not they will appear at all. This is an implication of thought and intelligence.

Risking his career, Heinemann said that essentially digital photography as allowed beings from the spirit world to be captured in photographs, and that this is strong enough evidence to prove the existence of the spirit world. Up until that point, the evidence had not been solid enough to make a conclusion. But now, the evidence was compelling. He went on to say that the phenomenon was non physical but exist non-the-less. One has to question whether or not a respected scientist would risk his career on something that is entirely false, or made up. Other scientist have proclaimed the idea as foolish, but considering that the human eye can only take in around ten percent of the energy in our surrounding environment, and is truly operating in a very limited range given the entire scope of the electromagnetic spectrum, one has to wonder about the possibility that the phenomenon is true.
People who believe in the existence of orbs have said that they feel that these balls of energy may be related in someway to the person who is taking the photograph. The orbs may be relatives or friends who have died.
Haunting
Commonly occurring on older buildings or places that have had occurrences of violence in the past, a haunting can be a bone chilling experience. Some believe that this occurs when the spirit of a person who suddenly died, can’t leave the place where the death occurred. Some spirits can be evil or harmless, just as people can be when still alive. Having the title of the most haunted house in the U.S., the Whitney House, which is located in San Diego, California, is a scary place indeed. The house was constructed in 1857, on an old lot that at one time was a cemetery. Several supernatural sightings have been reported at the house.
In St. Francisville, Louisianna rests the Myrtles Plantation, which was built by General David Bradford in 1796. The building is said to be the resting place of more than one upset spirit. It is reported that ten murders or more have happened here, but there is actually only one that has been confirmed. Cleo is the name of the main ghost who is said to haunt the premises. The story goes that Cleo was a slave who killed two girls, and was subsequently hung for the crime. Their have been reports of sightings of the two young girls at play on the houses verandah.
The Loch Ness Monster

It is said that the Loch Ness Monster is a prehistoric animal from the past, and that still manages to survive in the lake. Proof that it exists has been non-conclusive. Believers point to photographs and in some cases sonar read-outs, but in actuality there has never been any physical evidence collected, such as parts of a skeleton, or tissue. To this day a visit to Loch Ness will likely produce somebody who will claim to have seen the creature, but it seems sightings are becoming fewer and farther between in recent years. In 2006 there were only three reported sightings, and in 2007, only two.
The lack of sightings has been a problem for the local economy recently, as in the past tourism related to the monster had brought in approximately six million pounds a year. Thought sightings had remained consistent, skeptics have almost always found a counter argument and been able to disprove anything that was brought forward as evidence for the existence of the monster. Because of the shape of the lake itself, it has the potential for strange anomalies on the surface of the water. Every 31.5 minutes, water that has been blown to one end of the lake reverts back to its normal levels. This naturally occurring oscillation is called a seiche. Some have also claimed that gases produced by seismic activity can explain the sudden occurrence of something that appears to be breaking the waters surface.
