"Mr Bates vs The Post Office" and "Mr Loverman" Triumph at 2025 BAFTA TV Awards

The 2025 BAFTA Television Awards, hosted by Alan Cumming at London's Royal Festival Hall, celebrated the finest achievements in British television with "Mr Bates vs The Post Office" and "Mr Loverman" emerging as the evening's biggest winners.

"Mr Bates vs The Post Office" secured the prestigious Best Limited Drama award, while "Mr Loverman" claimed multiple honors, including Best Leading Actor for Lennie James and Best Supporting Actor for Ariyon Bakare.

In other acting categories, Jessica Gunning won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Baby Reindeer," with Marisa Abela taking home the Best Leading Actress award for "Industry." Richard Gadd's "Baby Reindeer" was also among the night's celebrated productions.

The star-studded event saw a parade of celebrities on the red carpet, including Nicola Coughlan, Billie Piper, Maura Higgins, Emily Atack, and Jessie J. "Gavin & Stacey" also joined the winners circle, with Ruth Jones collecting an award for the beloved comedy series.

The ceremony included some unplanned moments that didn't make it to the BBC broadcast, including Danny Dyer delivering an expletive-laden acceptance speech, while host Alan Cumming reportedly experienced an "hilarious onstage gaffe."

Other winners included the acclaimed Japanese drama "Shōgun" and comedy "Mr Bigstuff," rounding out an evening that showcased the diversity and quality of television production across BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Netflix, Disney+, and other platforms.
