Chris Brown Arrested in UK Over Alleged 2023 London Nightclub Assault

R&B singer Chris Brown has been arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with an alleged assault at a London nightclub in February 2023. The Metropolitan Police took Brown into custody at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, England, where he was staying ahead of his scheduled UK tour dates.

The charges stem from an incident at Tape nightclub in London, where Brown allegedly attacked music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle. According to reports, Diaw claims Brown "hit, punched, and kicked him," resulting in significant injuries. The producer has filed a $16 million lawsuit against Brown in relation to the alleged assault.

A representative from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed the charges, and Brown is now awaiting an appearance at Manchester Magistrates' Court. The arrest has cast significant doubt on the future of his upcoming UK tour dates, which were scheduled as part of his 20th-anniversary world tour.

This is not Brown's first legal trouble related to assault allegations. He previously made headlines for a 2009 physical assault involving his then-girlfriend Rihanna, which resulted in arrest and legal consequences.
