Actor Michael Pitt Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charges in Brooklyn

Boardwalk Empire and Dawson's Creek actor Michael Pitt was arrested in Brooklyn on May 2 on serious sexual abuse and assault charges stemming from alleged incidents between 2020 and 2021.

Pitt faces nine charges in total, including first-degree sexual abuse, criminal sexual act, assault with a blunt object, and strangulation. According to court information, the alleged incidents involved his ex-girlfriend and took place at his home in the Bushwick neighborhood of New York City.

The actor appeared at Kings Supreme Criminal Court where he pleaded not guilty to all charges. Following his arraignment, Pitt was released on $100,000 bail.

The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office is handling the case against the 43-year-old actor, who is known for his roles in HBO's Boardwalk Empire and various films throughout his career.
