Mohanlal Dominates Kerala Box Office with Consecutive Blockbusters

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is enjoying remarkable back-to-back success with his recent films "L2 Empuraan" and "Thudarum," setting new benchmarks for Malayalam cinema.

"Thudarum," Mohanlal's family drama directed by Tharun Moorthy, has shown exceptional staying power at the Kerala box office. Despite competing with new releases, the film added Rs 3.50 crore on its 14th day, bringing its total Kerala collection to Rs 83.80 crore. With this impressive performance, "Thudarum" has surpassed Mohanlal's own political actioner "L2 Empuraan," which collected Rs 81.35 crore in the same region.

Industry projections suggest "Thudarum," produced by Rejaputhra Visual Media, is on track to become Mohanlal's highest-grossing film in Kerala based on current trends.

Meanwhile, "L2 Empuraan," directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, has made history in international markets. The political thriller achieved a staggering Rs 145 crore gross in overseas territories, drawing approximately 1.45 million admissions across markets including UAE, GCC, Saudi Arabia, North America, UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and other European countries.

This international success establishes new overseas box office benchmarks for Malayalam cinema, cementing Mohanlal's star power across global markets.
