Rod Stewart Cancels Multiple US Tour Dates Due to Illness
Legendary rock star Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel several upcoming performances in the United States as he battles the flu. The 80-year-old singer announced the cancellation of four shows in Nevada, including performances at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and the postponement of two additional concerts in California.
"I'm devastated to announce that under doctor's orders I have no choice but to reschedule my upcoming US shows," Stewart stated regarding the cancellations.
The health setback comes just weeks before Stewart's highly anticipated appearance at the UK's prestigious Glastonbury Festival, where he is scheduled to perform in the coveted legends slot on June 29. The timing of these cancellations has raised concerns about whether the veteran performer will be able to recover in time for the festival appearance.
The postponed California shows have been rescheduled for September 2024, giving the singer time to recuperate. These cancellations follow previous show postponements, indicating an ongoing health challenge for the rock icon.
Despite the setbacks, fans remain hopeful that Stewart will make a full recovery in time for his Glastonbury performance, which remains on the calendar as of now.
