Smokey Robinson Under Criminal Investigation for Sexual Assault Allegations

Legendary singer Smokey Robinson is currently under criminal investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) following serious allegations of sexual assault made by former housekeepers.

The investigation stems from a civil lawsuit filed by four former employees seeking $50 million in damages. The plaintiffs have accused Robinson of sexual assault, false imprisonment, and labor violations. According to reports, three of the women have filed police reports with the LASD, prompting authorities to open a formal criminal investigation.

The accusers—identified in reports as Frances Robinson and various Jane Does—worked as housekeepers for Robinson and his wife. Their allegations have now escalated beyond civil court into the criminal justice system, though the investigation is reportedly still in its early stages.

Robinson's legal team has vehemently denied the accusations. His attorney, Christopher Frost, characterized the lawsuit and subsequent police reports as "a desperate attempt to tarnish [Robinson's] name."

The $50 million lawsuit contains multiple serious allegations against the 84-year-old Motown icon, putting his reputation and legal standing at risk as both the civil case and criminal investigation proceed.
