Wynonna Judd's Family History Revealed in New Lifetime Docuseries

Country music star Wynonna Judd has opened up about her complex family history in the new Lifetime docuseries "The Judd Family: Truth Be Told." The series delves into several previously private aspects of the famous singer's life and the Judd family dynamics.

In a startling revelation, Wynonna disclosed that she didn't learn the truth about her biological father until she was 30 years old. She had grown up believing that Michael Ciminella, her mother Naomi's first husband, was her father, only to discover later that her biological father was actually Charlie Jordan.

The docuseries also addresses difficult family moments, including confirmation from Naomi Judd's widower, Larry Strickland, that an incident depicted in a TV movie based on Naomi's 1993 memoir actually occurred—Naomi once shot a gun at him during their relationship.

Ashley Judd, Wynonna's sister, contributes to the documentary by sharing emotional details about her final conversations with their mother before Naomi's suicide in April 2022, shortly before The Judds were to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The series additionally provides insight into Wynonna's personal life, including her marriages. She has been married three times—to Arch Kelley, D.R. Roach, and her current husband, Cactus Moser. Wynonna has two children with her first husband Arch Kelley: son Elijah, born in 1994, and daughter Grace Pauline, born in 1996. Recent reports indicate that Grace was arrested in Alabama in April 2024 for indecent exposure.

The docuseries presents an unvarnished look at the trauma, resilience, and complicated relationships within one of country music's most famous families.
